We began our rescue activities  in 2005  after volunteering in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina . Initially we registered as  Dirty Dog Squad as an official 501c3 nonprofit in 2009.  After 10 years of rescue work, we changed the name of our organization to Zelda's Foundation for Animals. 

In the Los Angeles area, hundreds of dogs and cats are killed in the public shelters every year. We strive to break this vicious cycle and   unite these abandoned pets with households that will provide them safe and loving forever homes.  We are work hard to match each pet with a home that will meet its  specific needs.
